My client, an exciting start-up who are building and scaling their high-performance multi-faceted application, are looking for a Head of Software Engineering to operate as a hands-on, technical leader who can build and lead a multi-disciplined engineering team, while driving the development of a complex microservices platform from the ground up.

Head of Software Engineering - Experience required:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (Head of, VP, CTO, Director)
• Strong background in technical leadership in rapid growth and fast-paced environments, with experience building teams from scratch.
• Successful track record of building and leading teams in the delivery and development of complex software, driving an engaging recruitment process including talent identification.
• Demonstrable experience in the design and build of Microservices Architecture in high-growth environments.
• Solid software development experience across various technologies, for example: Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, and associated modern backend frameworks.
• Strong expertise in Cloud-native technology – AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, Kafka, Databases, Event-driven architecture.
• Strong grasp of enterprise security, scalability and wider non-functional requirements.
